Lions are king of the jungle,lions are second biggest cats in the world.lions weigh between 150 - 300 kilograms. Lions have large manes which make them look much bigger and scarier. The roar of a lion can be heard from 8 kilograms away.
Asiatic lions are found only in the gir forest national park in India,Africa and Asian Lion. Lions are good at living in dry weather like open grassland, woodland and deserts. Lions used to be found in many parts of Africa and even in parts of europe and Asia as wall.
Lions are carnivores, that means they only eat meat. Lions in the zoo eat lots of chicken, rabbits, sheep and sometimes horses. Lion are known to eat baby animals also, such like baby Hippos, Rhinos and elephants.
When lions are resting they like to sleep in groups to stay safe. Lions rest a lot and sleep mostly during day time and stay awake at night. They often rub heads and play together. Groups of lions are called ‘prides’ Lions like to hunt together in packs. Lions don’t like to run too much so prefer to sneak up on their prey.
